SAXINGER Supports Pierer Group in Strategic Partnership with Luxshare for LEONI AG

The Pierer Group, previously the sole owner of LEONI AG, has successfully secured a long-term strategic partner for LEONI AG. In a complex transaction, the Luxshare Group, a global technology leader based in Shenzhen, China, acquires 50.1% of LEONI AG’s shares along with its entire cable division (ACS Division).

LEONI, a renowned German automotive supplier with annual revenues exceeding €5 billion and more than 100,000 employees worldwide, was acquired and stabilized by the Pierer Group during a challenging phase in 2023. The newly established strategic partnership with Luxshare will significantly strengthen LEONI’s position in automotive cable technology.

The Luxshare Group, a major supplier to Apple among others, is an ideal partner for the Pierer Group to ensure LEONI’s future growth and competitiveness. With annual revenues exceeding USD 30 billion and a global workforce of over 230,000, Luxshare plans to expand its automotive activities further through LEONI.

SAXINGER provided comprehensive advice to the Pierer Group throughout the transaction. The core team included partners Ernst Chalupsky, Franz Mittendorfer, Sebastian Hütter, Bernhard Gonaus, and Markus Fellner. SAXINGER was supported by its German partner law firm, Schindhelm Osnabrück, represented by partners Christian Reichmann and Matthias Kirsch.

Regulatory aspects of the transaction were handled by Clifford Chance Düsseldorf, led by Dimitri Slobodenjuk, Axel Wittmann, Johannes Lüer, Anne Filzmoser, and Julius Schradin.
