SAXINGER advises INKOBA B309 on Google data center project in Kronstorf

SAXINGER advised the Association for Intermunicipal Business Development Kronstorf – Hargelsberg, B 309 on the legal structuring and implementation of the establishment of a Google data center project in Kronstorf (Upper Austria). The project represents a significant investment in the location of Upper Austria and serves the continued expansion of Google’s digital infrastructure in Europe.

The legal advice provided by SAXINGER covered in particular matters relating to site development, real estate transactions, financing issues, as well as contractual and regulatory frameworks in connection with the project implementation. Key focus areas included the structuring of land and infrastructure agreements, spatial planning and building law matters, as well as support in administrative approval procedures.

As part of the project, the construction of a data center is planned, which will in particular address the growing demand for cloud services and applications in the field of artificial intelligence. The establishment of the project is expected to sustainably strengthen Upper Austria as a business location, including the creation of both direct and indirect jobs.

An essential component of the project is the implementation of comprehensive sustainability measures. These include, in particular, the planned use of waste heat, the integration of a photovoltaic system, as well as further measures for resource-efficient energy and water use. In addition, initiatives are planned to ecologically enhance the river ecosystem of the Enns.

Furthermore, the project includes the construction of an information center as well as cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria to promote competencies in the field of artificial intelligence.

The Association for Intermunicipal Business Development Kronstorf – Hargelsberg, B 309 acts as an intermunicipal economic association and is responsible for the development and marketing of industrial and commercial zones as well as supporting business establishments in the region.
