SAXINGER advised the Hermann Hoppichler Privatstiftung on the sale of a majority stake in Hoppichler Gesellschaft m.b.H. to Kellner & Kunz Aktiengesellschaft.

SAXINGER advised the Hermann Hoppichler Privatstiftung on the sale of a majority stake in Hoppichler Gesellschaft m.b.H.. As part of the transaction, Kellner & Kunz Aktiengesellschaft acquired a 75% interest in the traditional wood-processing business located in Vöcklamarkt.

The transaction was notified to the Austrian Federal Competition Authority. With its entry, Kellner & Kunz is strategically expanding its value chain to include the production of wooden pallets and crates. Hoppichler Gesellschaft m.b.H. is a company with more than 100 years of history and around 40 employees, specializing in the manufacture of wooden transport and packaging solutions. Following completion of the transaction, the company will continue to operate as an independent business with its own strategy and corporate culture.

Kellner & Kunz, headquartered in Wels, is one of the leading C-parts specialists in the fields of tools, fastening technology, and industrial supply solutions in the German-speaking region. The company is part of the Würth Group and has international subsidiaries in several European countries.

The investment primarily serves the strategic expansion of the production segment as well as the broadening of its product and service offering for industrial and trade customers. Through vertical integration, existing competencies along the supply and value chain are to be further strengthened.

The transaction team at SAXINGER was led by partners Gerald Schmidsberger and Bernhard Gonaus, who advised the Hermann Hoppichler Privatstiftung on all legal matters related to the transaction. The team also included partner Martin Gassler and associate Alexander Eisenköck.
